After receiving a complaint from an actress, actor Jayasurya has been the subject of another FIR.
“Second FIR registered against actor Jayasurya under 354, 354A(A1)(I) 354D IPC,” the Kerala Police told ANI. Following the recording of the complainant’s statement, the complaint was filed. Thiruvananthapuram has received a filed complaint, which would be moved to the Thodupuzha Police Station.
Several women from the Malayalam film industry came forward with allegations of sexual harassment following the release of the Hema Committee report.
Actress Sonia Malhar addressed the matter on Thursday, disclosing startling instances of abuse and exploitation in the early stages of her career.
She claimed, “I entered the industry in 2013 and after doing one or two films, there was an incident on a film set,” in an interview with ANI. It was shot in Thodupuzha. I noted that because of my expertise in social work, I was treated with some respect when I arrived on location, in contrast to the standard procedure where younger artists are not presented to the lead actors. It’s not normal for the director to approach me and shake my hand. He then presented me to the actress and lead actor.”
She went on to say, “I was asked to change into my costume and go get makeup. They indicated that the site had somewhat changed. The restrooms and cosmetics and costume rooms were located in a nearby historic building. Upon returning from the restroom, I was unintentionally grabbed by someone. He later apologized, but I was afraid.
Following that event, I encountered numerous challenges.

Sonia Malhar claimed that she felt ashamed and made the decision to make this accusation after learning that another actress from a different state had experienced similar horrible things.
“It’s disgusting that a woman from another state isn’t even able to receive the deference she merits. One would anticipate some humiliation when a woman speaks out against the president of the Film Academy,” she continued. She revealed that “the silence from many people” had “hurt” her following the release of the Hema Committee findings.
On Thursday, Kerala Police told ANI, “An FIR has been filed against actor Mukesh, who is a CPI (M) MLA from the Kollam constituency. ”
The police also stated that an additional formal complaint has been filed against actor Jayasurya based on the same actress’s allegation, under section 354, which addresses the intention to offend modesty. The actress gave a statement to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Wednesday.” Actors Mukesh M, Jayasurya, Maniyanpilla Raju, and Idavela Babu have all been accused by Ms. Muneer of verbal and physical abuse while working together on movies.
An actress’s complaint served as the foundation for filing a formal complaint.
Speaking with ANI, Ms. Muneer described her encounters and made several accusations of wrongdoing. One day, as I was leaving the restroom, Jayasurya gave me a strong back hug and even a hard kiss. Idavela Babu then indicated that he was interested in having a sexual relationship with me,” she said.
She went on to talk about unsettling exchanges with Maniyanpilla Raju, including improper advice about where to stay at the hotel.
The claims first came to light soon after actor Siddique and director Ranjith resigned from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) due to individual accusations leveled against them.
