PROBA-3 Mission Live Update:- ISRO PSLV-C59/Proba-3 Mission The PSLV C-59 rocket of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) made a historic flight on Thursday. Carrying the ‘Proba-3’ mission of the European Space Agency (ESA) on its back, it started towards space at 4.04 pm. As soon as this spacecraft of ISRO reached the Earth’s orbit, ISRO’s Bengaluru office jumped with joy. The Mission Command Center in Sriharikota echoed with thunderous applause. ISRO Chairman S Somnath congratulated all the scientists involved in the launch.
Earlier ISRO had planned to launch ‘Proba-3’ spacecraft at 4.08 pm on Wednesday from the spaceport of Sriharikota. However, ISRO rescheduled the launch following a request from ESA shortly before the launch. Then the time for launch was fixed at 4:04 pm on 5th December. It was rescheduled after an anomaly was found in the satellite propulsion system. PROBA-3 Mission Live Update ISRO said in the update given on Thursday, ‘PSLV-C59/Proba-3 mission. The countdown has started. The launch time is scheduled for December 5, 2024 at 4:04 pm. Stay tuned for PSLV-C59’s preparations to place ESA’s ‘Proba-3’ satellites into orbit. ISRO’s commercial arm ‘New Space India Limited’ has received this order from ESA.
Proba-3 (Project for Onboard Anatomy) has two satellites – Coronagraph (310 kg) and Occulter (240 kg). In this, two spacecraft will fly together and create structures accurate to one millimeter to study the corona, the Sun’s outer atmosphere. ESA said that the corona is hotter than the Sun and this is where space weather originates. It is also a subject of wide scientific and practical interest. (agency inputs).
