Paris Olympics 2024:-It was a disappointing day for India on Day 12 of the ongoing Paris Olympics as Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the women’s 50kg gold medal match after the Indian wrestler failed to lift weight on the morning of the meet. He was 100 grams overweight and has since announced his retirement. He has also appealed to CAS to allow him to get the combined silver medal. Meanwhile, Mirabai Chanu finished fourth in the women’s 49kg weightlifting event with a total lift of 199kg.

In table tennis, the Indian women’s team lost to Germany 1-3 in the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, in athletics, Avinash Sable finished 11th in the men’s 3000m steeplechase final and Jyoti Yaraji finished seventh in the women’s 100m hurdles heats.
Indian fans will have a lot of expectations on Day 13 as defending champion Neeraj Chopra will contest the final of the men’s javelin throw event. Neeraj’s final will be held in the second half and it will take place at 11:55 pm IST. The first half has started with golf and Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar are in action.
