Leading figures in the Telugu film industry have severely reacted against statements made by Telangana Minister Konda Surekha, which associate actor Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s divorce with KT Rama Rao, the leader of Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
In a post on X, seasoned actor Chiranjeevi expressed his “great pain” at witnessing the minister’s “disgraceful remarks.” It is unfortunate that celebrities and people of the film industry turn into easy pickings because they have immediate access to public attention. We as Film Industry stand united in opposing such vicious verbal assaults on our members,” Mr Chiranjeevi said.
Nobody should go to this extent to further their Afghanistan agenda by accusing nasty and fictitious persons and drawing random people—especially women—into their political mudslinging. Our leaders are chosen to improve society rather than to taint it by reducing the quality of speech. Politicians and those in respectable positions ought to lead by example. Have faith that the person in question will quickly retract these hurtful comments and offer apologies,” he continued.
NT Rama Rao Junion, also referred to as Jr. NTR, was another well-known actor who responded to the intense controversy surrounding the Congress leader. The “RRR” actor remarked, “dragging personal lives into politics is a new low,” in a message that addressed the minister. “Public personalities need to uphold their dignity and respect for privacy, especially those in positions of authority like you. Seeing erroneous claims made carelessly, particularly in relation to the film industry, is depressing.
Chiranjeevi, Jr., NTR, and Nani vehemently disagree with Konda Surekha’s comments regarding Samantha and Naga Chaitanya split.
We refuse to remain silent in the face of unfounded accusations made against us by others. We ought to put this behind us and continue to honor one another’s limits. The actor remarked, “Let’s make sure that in democratic India, our society does not normalize such reckless behavior.”
Renowned actor Allu Arjun fiercely slammed the remarks with a post and hashtag: “#FilmIndustryWillNotTolerate”.
“I vehemently denounce the vile remarks made toward movie stars and movie families. This conduct is extremely insulting and deviates from our Telugu culture’s ideals. Such careless behavior shouldn’t be tolerated as the norm. I implore all concerned parties to behave more responsibly and show consideration for the privacy of others, particularly women. The Pushpa actor stated, “We have to uphold dignity and respect for everyone in society.
“Disgusting to see politicians thinking that they can get away talking any kind of nonsense” is how actor Nani put it. It is foolish of us to expect you to have any responsibility for your people when your words may be so careless. It goes beyond stars and movies. There’s no political party involved here. It is unacceptable for someone in such a high position to speak such blatantly false things in front of the media and feel justified in doing so. He added in a post on X that “We all should condemn such practice which will reflect poorly on our society.”
“One of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions one has to make” is what Naga Chaitanya described as the decision to file for divorce.
When Ms. Surekha claimed that BRS leader and former minister KT Rama Rao had been tapping actresses’ phones and using them for blackmail, it caused a huge rift. “KT Rama Rao is the reason behind Samantha’s divorce, the actress… He used to listen in on the actresses’ phones, identify their vulnerabilities, and use that information to blackmail them. He was a minister at the time. He used to turn them into drug addicts before doing this. “Everyone is aware that something like this occurred, including Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, and his family,” the minister stated.

The father of Naga Chaitanya, veteran actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, responded sharply to the remarks. “I vehemently disagree with the remarks made by Honorable Minister Mrs. Konda Surekha. Don’t use your opponents’ lack of political involvement to disparage their life. Please be considerate of others’ privacy. As a woman in a responsible position, your comments and accusations against our family are completely irrelevant and false. I request you to withdraw your comments immediately.”
After giving it some serious thinking, my ex-spouse and I decided to split up. We came to this peaceful choice because we had distinct aspirations for our lives and wanted to proceed as two responsible adults with dignity and respect. But up until now, there have been a number of utterly absurd and unfounded rumors on the situation. I have kept quiet all these time out of utmost respect for my family and former marriage,” he remarked.
