On April 26, 1762, Syama Sastri—born Venkata Subrahmanya—was born into a Telugu Brahmin household.He was regarded as one of the carnatic music trinity as well. He is more well-known to subsequent generations by his musical mudra (signature), Syama Krishna, or by his assumed name, Syama Sastri.
1915- Poet Pardeep was born
The patriotic song “Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo,” which was composed as a memorial to the troops who had perished protecting the nation during the Sino-Indian War, is the most well-known work by Indian poet and singer Kavi Pradeep. His patriotic lyrics for the movie Bandhan brought him initial notice.
1931- Moti Gangadhar Nehru was died
Motilal Nehru was a prominent figure in the Indian independence struggle, a co-founder of the Swaraj (“Self-rule”) Party, and the father of Jawaharlal Nehru, the country’s first prime minister. He was born in Delhi, India, on May 6, 1861, and passed away in Lucknow on February 6, 1931.

1939- Sayaji Rao Gaekwad III was died
One month shy of becoming 76, Sayajirao Gaekwad III passed away on February 6, 1939, capping a lengthy and eventful 63-year reign. Pratap Singh Rao Gaekwad, his grandson and heir, succeeded him as the new Maharaja of Baroda.

The 56-year-old King of the United Kingdom, George VI (1895–1952), passed away from lung cancer. His daughter, Elizabeth II, succeeded him. His title of Emperor of India was removed in 1947.

1959- First women judge of Kerala High Court
Sir C.P. Ramaswami Iyer, the Dewan of Travancore, appointed Anna Chandy as a munsif in 1937. She became India’s first female judge as a result. She was promoted to the rank of District Judge in 1948.Ann Chandy was named the Kerala High Court’s first female judge.

Founded in 1966, Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) is a public state university situated in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India’s southern region. The University Grants Commission (UGC) in India designated MKU as one of the 15 institutions with the status of University with Potential for Excellence.

Arthur Ashe, the first black man to win a Grand Slam tennis tournament, was an American tennis player who passed away from pneumonia associated to AIDS; it is possible that he caught the virus from a contaminated blood transfusion he had after coronary bypass surgery.
2012- Antoni Tapies was died
The Catalan artist Antoni Tàpies is recognized for having brought modern abstract painting to Spain. He started off as a surrealist but eventually turned to abstract painting.
