In response to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appeal contesting his arrest and imprisonment due to his suspected participation in the capital’s divisive Delhi excise policy, the Delhi High Court postponed its decision on Wednesday.
Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, had earlier claimed that his detention during the Lok Sabha elections violated the fundamental structure and upset the “level playing field.” However, the Enforcement Directorate dismissed his claims.

On behalf of the ED, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) SV Raju argued at the Delhi High Court hearing, claiming that Kejriwal “has copies of charge sheets, relied and unrelied documents” and that he has “so much influence.”
The Delhi High Court heard an argument from the ED that included the following ten points:
2. The quickest place to find breaking news is Hindustan Times! Now go read.
ASG Raju stated, speaking on behalf of the ED, “It is not the place of criminals or those awaiting trial to declare that they will commit a crime and not be apprehended only because elections are taking place. This is just absurd on its face. It will grant criminals permission to go about unhindered. If Aam Aadmi has committed a crime, he must serve time in prison, but
3. According to the ED, Kejriwal inquiry is still in its early phases. Arguments have been made as though the investigation is over and a charge sheet has been submitted.
4. The ASG informed the court that the plea contesting the ED arrest is an obvious example of “waiver & acquiescence.” “You (Kejriwal) cannot ride two horses at once. You cannot fight the remand order and then request that it be passed so that I may accept it. “He has not objected to the most recent directive (dated April 1),” he stated.

5. The ED attorney continued his remarks, saying, “His custody today is in relation to the most recent order (April 1).” Even if the directives from March 22 and 28 are disregarded, he will
6. According to the ED, there is no question about the existence of a fraud today. “However you cry wolf today, the truth is that there was a scam, and the public and the exchequer lost out on the money.” The election period did not coincide with the existence of a ₹100 crore scandal. Election phobia is too much for them to handle. Now is the time for the elections. It’s not as though ED is now operational, the ED attorney remarked.
7. Despite Kejriwal belief that “I am a saint,” all that has been done has been done “very tactfully.” Raju contended in court that Kejriwal is not only personally involved but also involved vicariously.

8. The ASG argued: “Where is the inquiry about the fact that my residence was empty? In the elections in Goa, you utilized money. You said you didn’t know where the money was when ED inquired.
9. “There are several methods to conceal anything. Send it overseas, and when the ED asks, you may reply, “I don’t know.” Finding evidence of criminal proceeds is unimportant. You contend that nothing from your residence was discovered. How would the money be retrieved from your home if you handed it to someone else? “ED informed the court.
10. While Kejriwal argues that there is no fresh information, Raju stated in court that the ED has a significant quantity of income tax data, WhatsApp chats, and Hawala operation declarations. Raju said, “It’s not like we are shooting in the dark.”
The biggest opposition parties are no longer eligible to run in the 2024 elections, according to the Election Commission. Two of the nine-second commercials that were allowed were “Their votes will not be counted” and “Combatting ageism: new election rules to promote participation mean if you are over 50 your vote counts double.”
“There are significant concerns about the platform’s susceptibility to information operations and manipulation campaigns given its incapacity to identify and filter content that is intended to compromise electoral integrity and manifestly contravenes its own policies,” the study stated.
“None of these advertisements came from inside India. Our submissions were made from the UK with an Indian audience in mind. No verification check was conducted. Though we occasionally used VPNs, Henry Peck says, “They weren’t set to India.”
