Exam paper leaks and allegations of impersonation plagued the UP Police constable recruitment, which took place on February 17 and 18. Ever since, there has been a growing desire to retake the tests. Exam candidates in several areas called for the examinations to be canceled, claiming that the paper had been leaked on WhatsApp before they arrived at the testing location.
“Initial inquiries have found that miscreants utilize Telegram’s edit feature to cheat and spread disinformation about a paper leak on social media,” the UP Police Recruitment and Promotional Board said in response to the paper leak accusation.The board and UP Police are keeping a close eye on these occurrences and looking into their causes in great detail. The board stated that the test is proceeding without incident or danger.
The board also reaffirmed its pledge to uphold the “transparency and integrity” of each exam it administers. With the assistance of UP Police, the board will carefully check the unsubstantiated news that is trending following the successful completion of the test on a huge scale. “Candidates ought to maintain confidence,” it stated.

A video of Chief Minister Yodi Adityanath is making the rounds on social media amid calls for holding the examinations again. A user using by the handle aryan_ydv_4u posted a video of the CM saying, “We said cancel the entire paper now.” Get the whole gang arrested. Make sure every youngster gets home safely.

BJP Minister demands a reassessment
In a letter to Chief Minister Adityanath, a BJP MLA from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, requested that the tests be held again. The Minister was reported by TOI as saying, “Some young aspirants who appeared for the examination informed me that the question paper of all the four shifts was leaked before the exam on 17 and 18 Feb.” The minister ordered that tests be rescheduled after stating that the situation is serious and might affect the student’s future.
244 individuals are arrested in the UP
In the last three days, police in Uttar Pradesh have detained or arrested up to 244 persons on suspicion of using unfair methods during the police constable recruitment exam. The state police headquarters released a statement stating that these arrests or detentions took place between February 15 and February 18, starting at 6 p.m.. According to PTI, Uttar Pradesh police chief Prashant Kumar stated, “People and gangs involved in adopting unfair means (in exams) will be caught and strict action will be taken against them.”
In a different incidence, authorities told PTI on Monday that a candidate for the Uttar Pradesh Police recruitment exam and his dummy were taken into custody on charges of cheating, forgery, and employing unfair methods during the exam. According to the police, there was an agreement in place for the dummy applicant to sit for the examination in place of the real candidate for ₹5 lakh, of which ₹1 lakh was given in advance.
