On Monday, the Delhi Traffic Police sent out a commuter advisory informing drivers that from 4 to 8 p.m., certain roads will see traffic congestion.
The Delhi Traffic Police stated in a post on X that “general traffic movement will be regulated on the following roads and junctions from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM due to special traffic arrangements on May 20, 2024.”
The following routes will be impacted:
• The road that connects Khanpur to the Karni Singh shooting range at Mehrauli, Badarpur • The entirety of Indermohan Bhardwaj Marg and Alaknanda Road
• Ravidas Marg (from Hamdard to Tara T-Point) • Outer Ring Road (from Savitri Flyover to Chirag Delhi)
• Internal Roads in and surrounding Sangam Vihar’s DDA Park
Commuters were advised by the traffic advisory to stay off these routes and take public transportation instead.
“If at all possible, commuters are asked to avoid or circumvent the aforementioned roads and to make full use of public transportation, particularly Metro services. Additionally, it emphasized that the general public should allow enough time when scheduling car trips along the aforementioned routes and intersections.
In addition, drivers were advised in the alert to “observe traffic rules and road discipline and follow directions of traffic personnel deployed at all intersections” and to exercise patience during anticipated traffic jams.
