Veteran Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik has married Pakistani actor Sana Javed amid rumours of his divorce from Indian tennis legend Sania Mirza. Malik shared the update on Saturday through a social media post on X, formerly known as Twitter. The post comprises pictures from their wedding ceremony with the caption: “And we created you in pairs.”
For a time now, there had been rumors that Malik was seeing Javed. However, when the former captain of Pakistan sent a birthday greeting to the actress last year, along with a photo of the two, he added fuel to the fire.
The 41-year-old previously defended Javed after the Pyaare Afzal actress faced criticism for allegedly acting rudely toward makeup artists and juniors on the set. “I have known Sana Javed for quite some time now and have had the opportunity to work with her multiple times, from my personal experience I can only say that she has always been kind & courteous towards me & the people around us,” Malik wrote in a tweet in March 2022.
Despite rumours of a split with Mirza, Malik’s wedding post surprised many on both sides of the border equally. 2010 saw the two tie the knot in a customary Muslim ceremony in Hyderabad, and they subsequently celebrated their Walima in Sialkot, Pakistan. Son Izhaan was born in 2018 to Malik and Mirza as well.
Their relationship’s disintegration is thought to have started in the first half of 2021, however the exact cause is undisclosed. Judging on their social media presence, Sania and Shoaib continued to be active on Instagram, sharing photos and stories about the two of them traveling the globe while capturing family photos on Dubai beaches. But with time, their social media mobility became more restricted. There were rumors last year that Sania and Shoaib were going to collaborate on a TV show. This eventually came to be when Spotify launched The Mirza Malik show, in which the two welcomed a number of celebrities for 40-minute episodes.
Sania had earlier on Wednesday sparked rumors of a divorce with Malik by sharing a mysterious picture on her Instagram account. Her message said, “Marriage is difficult.” Divorce is a challenging process. Pick your hardest. Being fat is difficult. Maintaining physical fitness is difficult. Pick your hardest. Being in debt is challenging. It’s challenging to practice financial discipline. Pick your hardest. Effective communication is difficult. Being silent is difficult. Pick your hardest. It’s inevitable that life will not be simple. It’s going to be challenging forever. It’s going to be difficult forever. We may select our hard, though. Make sensible choices.”

Could this be Shoaib Malik's third marriage?
This is Malik’s second marriage as of record. Having said that, the cricket player disputed reports that Malik had wed Ayesha Siddiqui before to his marriage to Sania. Allegations that Malik was already married disrupted his wedding ceremony with Mirza. On national television, Ayesha, her family, and her sister Maha had intensified the situation. Malik himself acknowledged that the entire chapter with Ayesha was a simple case of deception.
From the beginning in 2000, the two spoke on the phone, with Ayesha identifying herself as a fan of Shoaib. Malik acknowledged that as the two spoke frequently, they began to feel something for one another, but Ayesha would never be accessible when Shoaib wanted to meet her. When Malik traveled to Hyderabad in 2002 to meet her, Ayesha informed him that she had to take an immediate flight to Saudi Arabia. Three years later, Malik and his family received the news that Ayesha needed to travel to the United States, the day before they were scheduled to meet the family.
Malik insisted on having a full-fledged ceremony with the families there and able to participate, despite Ayesha’s desire for him to have a telephone “Nikah.” It turned out that the female he was talking to and the one he had seen pictures of were not the same person. Even though Malik had served the father MA Siddiqui with a legal notice, the story did not end there. Ayesha accused Shoaib of having a “intimate relationship” and made serious accusations against him. Additionally, she stated that during their “marriage,” she became pregnant, but it ended in miscarriage.
