As the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has intensified the search for the new head coach of the men’s national team, names of several famous former cricketers have emerged.
When the board issued an advertisement to find a replacement for Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Gautam Gambhir emerged as the top Indian names. There are reports of Ricky Ponting, Justin Langer, Stephen Fleming etc. also being in the shortlist of the board. But, it seems that the No. 1 candidate on BCCI’s radar is Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Gautam Gambhir.
According to a report in Dainik Jagran, Gautam Gambhir is also keen to take over as the India head coach, although this is his first year as the KKR mentor. But, there is ‘one condition’ before the former India batsman can write the application form.
