Rain Related Update 2024:-The India Meteorological Department said the monsoon has started moving downwards and will reach coastal Kerala, Karnataka and Konkan Goa this week. IMD said that there is a possibility of heavy rain and storm in these states in the coming days.
Citing heavy rains in the coastal state, the Goa Education Department on Sunday declared holiday for schools up to class 12 on Monday, July 15, after the IMD issued a red alert in parts of the state. The IMD issued a red alert for Malappuram, Kannur and Kasaragod in Kerala and an orange alert for Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Wayanad for Monday. In its weather update, IMD said that parts of Kerala, Karnataka and Goa will receive more than 20 cm of rainfall in the next few days. Meanwhile, red alert has been issued in four districts of Maharashtra – Satara, Kolhapur, Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri amid heavy rains.
while the red alert was issued for four Districts, the IMD issued a yellow alert in Mumbai and Palghar and an orange alert in these, Raigad and Pune. there are reports of heavy waterlogging in suburban areas of Mumbai amid continuous rains and storms. The IMD said light rain and moderate winds are expected over Delhi NCR in the coming days, but no color coded alert was issued for the national capital.

It rained in parts of Delhi on Saturday morning, causing waterlogging and traffic jams. However, the rain provided further relief from the July heat. It rained in neighboring Noida also in the morning. Scenes from central Delhi show traffic moving slowly due to waterlogging on roads.
