Paris Olympics Live Update 2024:-Star pistol shooter Manu Baker returned home on Wednesday after achieving the historic feat of winning two medals at the same edition of the Olympic Games and was welcomed by hundreds of supporters and her family. The Air India flight (AI 142), which had brought Bakar from Paris to Delhi, landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport around 9:20 am, an hour late.
Despite the morning drizzle in the city, hundreds of people, who had been waiting at the airport long before her arrival, welcomed her – and her coach Jaspal Rana – enthusiastically.

Before leaving for India, Bhakar had said that she was expecting a grand welcome and she was not disappointed on Wednesday.
The young player was welcomed with bouquets, garlands and playing of drums as he exited the airport. Flowers were showered on him and Rana as they came out amid heavy police presence to control the crowd. Manu’s parents – Ram Kishan and Sumedha – and sports fans and officials from his home state Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand (where Rana hails from) were present on the occasion.
Paris Olympics Live Update 2024:-Narayan Singh Rana, former sports minister of Uttarakhand and Rana’s father, said, “It is a matter of pride for us that a daughter of India is coming back after creating history by winning two medals at the Olympics. This has never happened before. She is only She is 22 years old.”
He said, “She is coming with her coach Jaspal Rana. He is my son He achieved distinction in shooting while playing for India. Jaspal Rana and Abhinav Bindra started it.”
People had gathered at the airport well in advance of their arrival and celebrated Bakar and Rana’s achievement by singing and dancing, carrying banners with photographs of Bakar and Rana.
Bakar will meet Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in the afternoon. She will return to Paris on Saturday and attend the closing ceremony on Sunday, where she will be the flag bearer for India.
