livndtv Live Updates 2024:-Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is all set to start operations under its ambitious Phase 4 project as it has received the crucial safety clearance for the Janakpuri West to Krishna Park Extension section on the Magenta Line. In a statement, DMRC announced that work on the 2.5 km long Janakpuri West-Krishna Park Extension section has been completed and all mandatory inspections have been completed. The date of opening of the new section will be announced soon.
“Work on Janakpuri West-Krishna Park Extension section of Phase 4 has been completed. All mandatory inspections of the section have also been conducted, and final safety certification has been received today (Friday)The conditions laid down in the approval will be followed and the date of opening of this section will be informed thereafter, DMRC said in a statement.
The Janakpuri West to Krishna Park Extension section includes only one new station, Krishna Park Extension, and this part is underground. This station will be connected to the Botanical Garden of Uttar Pradesh. Upon opening, passengers will benefit from increased connectivity and reduced travel time on the new section.

Under the Phase 4 project of Delhi Metro, the Magenta Line is being extended from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram Marg, covering a total distance of 29.3 km. This corridor will have a total of 22 stations, including eight interchange stations, making it an important addition to the city’s transit infrastructure.
Although the entire corridor is estimated to be operational by 2026, DMRC plans to open certain stretches in a phased manner to ensure gradual but efficient connectivity.
