IAS Pooja Khedkar’s:- Manorama Khedkar, mother of IAS officer Pooja Khedkar, was detained by Pune Police this morning on charges of illegal gun possession. The detention follows a viral video that recently surfaced online, in which she is seen brandishing a pistol while confronting local farmers over a land dispute in Mulshi village in Pune district. In the footage, which has sparked outrage among people, he is shown having a heated argument with a farmer who is reportedly demanding to see the land documents in his name. As tension escalated, he waved the gun threateningly and immediately hid it when he saw the camera recording the encounter.

Dilip Khedkar has also faced corruption charges, having been suspended twice during his tenure as a government official. His first suspension was in 2018 while he was working as a regional officer in Kolhapur. During this period, the local saw mill and timber traders association filed a police complaint against him, alleging that he demanded a bribe of Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 to restore their electricity and water supply. He faced another suspension in 2020 due to similar allegations.
The Khedkar family’s troubles extend far beyond this incident. Pooja Khedkar, who secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 841 in the UPSC exam as part of the 2023 batch, has faced allegations of making false claims in her UPSC candidature and the use of power over her after assuming office.
