Howrah-Mumbai Train Accident LIVE Update:-On the morning of July 30, two people died when several coaches of Howrah-CSMT Express derailed near Chakradharpur, Jharkhand. The accident occurred around 3:45 am, following which Accident Relief Medical Equipment (ARME), staff and Additional Divisional Railway Manager along with CKP (Chakradharpur Railway Station) reached the spot to handle the situation.
Railway officials said the accident occurred when a goods train derailed and collided with the Howrah-Mumbai Mail train passing in the opposite direction. All the injured passengers were taken to Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur. Following the incident, Indian Railways canceled five trains including Howrah-Titalgarh-Kantabanji Express, Kharagpur-Jhargram-Dhanbad Express, Howrah-Barbil-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express, Tatanagar-Itwari Express and LTT-Express. All the passengers have been evacuated from the accident site to Chakradharpur, where a special train is available for their onward journey. South Eastern Railway CPRO Aditya Kumar Chaudhary told PTI that the railways is focusing on relief and track restoration.
Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao said that since the formation of the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the number of train accidents has come down and the railway department is working to prevent such accidents.

Howrah-Mumbai Train Accident LIVE Update South Eastern Railways said in a statement that it has arranged special bus services to transport passengers from the derailment site and has paid an ex-gratia amount of Rs 50,000 each to the four injured passengers.
Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghosh asked how many more people would have to die or be injured before the Modi government would accept its failure to ensure railway safety. He asked, “Where is the Railway Minister? Where is PM Modi?”
