Famous actor Govinda issued an audio tape in which he thanked his fans for their blessings, just hours after he arrived in a Mumbai hospital with a bullet wound to his leg. The actor’s licensed gun misfired, resulting in an injury below the knee.

The 60-year-old actor can be heard saying in a raspy voice that he was spared by the good fortune of his parents, guru, and admirers. “A bullet did strike me, but it was removed. In the audio tape, he stated, “I thank the doctors here and your prayers.”

As he was preparing to head to the airport to catch a flight to Kolkata this morning, the actor sustained the injury at approximately 4:45 a.m. At the time of the occurrence, the actor—a leader of the Shiv Sena as well—was by himself.
