Delhi High Court Update :-the Delhi government on Tuesday urged the supreme court to urgently hear its plea Chellenging the law that takes away service from the control of the national capital territory of Delhi government. senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for the Delhi government, referred to the urgent hearing of the case before a bench of chief justice of the india DY Chandrachud and justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra, saying the law would create hurdles in the administration of the state at the grassroots level doing. “this is senior matter it is creating problem at the ground level Singhvi said”
the apex court referred the Delhi government’s plea Chellenging the government of national capital territory of Delhi (Amendent) ordinance 2023 (now the act) to a five judge constitution bench in July 2023. the ordinance was replaced by the government of NCT Delhi (Amendent) act 2023, passed by parliament in august 2023. the ordinance (now act) came a week after the supreme court handed over control of service in Delhi except police, police order and land to the elected government, the sought to set up a national capital services authority for the transfer. disciplinary action will be taken against the group a officer. while filling the petition, the Delhi government had argued that through this the central government has actually overturned the decision of the supreme court.

The Act was brought to amend the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991 and overrides the Supreme Court judgment in the Center vs Delhi case. On May 11 last year, the Supreme Court had given its verdict on the division of administrative powers between the Center and the Delhi government.
