New Delhi:
When Kalki arrived in 2898 AD, he noticed and completely took over the box office. On the day of its release, the sci-fi movie, which was directed by Nag Ashwin, brought in ₹ 95 crore net at the Indian box office, according to Sacnilk. According to the Sacnilk report, which shared the first-day box office receipts and occupancy, “Kalki 2898 AD earned around 95.00 Cr India net on its first day for all languages.” In terms of the movie’s global box office take on its debut, it brought in an incredible ₹ 180 crore. According to Sacnilk, on Thursday, the Telugu occupancy rate for the movie Kalki 2898 AD, which was released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, was 85.15%.
Vyjayanthi Movies produced the movie, which was directed by Nag Ashwin. Starring in Kalki 2898 AD are Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani.
Saibal Chatterjee, a film critic for Live NDTV, gave the movie 2.5 stars out of 5 and stated, “Prabhas excels in acting, and not just because the movie is centered around him. His commanding presence acts as a counterbalance to Ashwatthama, played by Amitabh Bachchan, who is eight feet tall. As usual, the voice of the latter is a crucial component of the persona. As one of the main characters, Deepika Padukone is fantastic as the pregnant woman on the run. In a movie that frequently allows spectacle to overshadow everything else it is attempting to say about humanity and the threats it faces, Saswata Chatterjee, who plays the villain who fires deadly laser beams from his fist, has his moments.
KALKI:
Cinematographer Djordje Stojiljkovic, who is based in Belgrade, captures the action moments with remarkable felicity, and while the visual effects aren’t flawless, they are of a caliber that doesn’t lessen the film’s overall impact.
The production design of Kalki 2898 AD, which is masterfully done by Nitin Zihani Choudhary, is the most remarkable and captivating feature. The film carves out tremendously striking backdrops, locations, and settings that significantly improve the depth and proportions of the picture.

In the middle of a desert, Kasi is the world’s last surviving city and the setting for the novel. It is ruled by a shriveled, wrinkled tyrant who has scientists working for him to create a serum that will revitalize him for impending funeral fights that are not covered in this movie.
A man destined for immortality (Amitabh Bachchan), a massive metal bow that no regular person can touch, much less lift, and a mother (Deepika Padukone) carrying an unborn child in her womb—the main source of conflict between Kasi and Sambhala—where rebellion brews against Sugriv Yaskin (Kamal Haasan) and his depredations—are among the main plot points of Kalki 2898 AD.
The expectant mother is an epitome of a miracle, and the rebels of Sambhala, the mythical location where Lord Vishnu’s last incarnation, Kalki, is predicted to take birth and free humanity from its woes, decide to transport her to safety. Their task is far from simple.
Its towering ambition, opulent visuals, and perplexing millennium-spanning chronology never fail to impress Kalki in 2898 AD.
That helps the Ashwin Nag-directed movie overcome its narrative roadblocks and speed bumps, as well as occasionally assists it. There are a lot, particularly in the first half, which is a disorganized mess full of unsolved questions.

Jumping across 6,000 years, Kalki 2898 AD takes place 874 years in the future, starting during the Kurukshetra conflict and ending with an encounter between Lord Krishna and Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan). The world has fallen into the hands of evil, the Ganga has dried up, infertility has taken hold of society, and people are waiting sadly for supernatural intervention. Kaliyug is upon humanity.
When a character sees an object that stumps him, he replies, “Iska koi scientific reason toh hoga” (there must be a scientific cause for this). That’s a question that could be applied throughout the entire movie. He’s told this is not scientific. That pretty much sums up Kalki 2898 AD, which is an ungainly blend of mythology, logic, and intense action that was somewhat influenced by Hollywood superhero flicks.
The explanatory sections of Kalki 2898 AD are rushed, complicated, and difficult to understand. There was room for improvement in the movie in terms of clarity and directness. However, the film relies heavily on its stunning mounting and execution as it rockets into the second half and into its finale, making up for the writing’s shortcomings.
