DELHI: AAP MP and former DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal rejected claims that she was attacked on May 13 by CM Kejriwal’s assistant Bibhav Kumar after she declined to resign from her Rajya Sabha seat in order to assist the party leadership in electing someone who has provided significant assistance to Kejriwal, but she ruled out her resignation.
In her first comprehensive statement following the “assault,” Maliwal said that she has discovered attempts to discredit her and damage her reputation are being attempted because her party wants her to step down. “I would have given my life to ensure that they had my Rajya Sabha seat, had they asked nicely.” It is so insignificant, she said to ANI.
“Now they can try as hard as they want, I won’t resign,” the man said, lamenting the manner in which they have defeated him. This is the reason my character is being killed, so I’ve been told. I refuse to step down. As the youngest female parliamentarian currently serving, I promise to put in a lot of effort and grow into a model citizen.
Maliwal recounted the events, claiming that Bibhav Kumar approached her angrily while she was waiting in the CM’s drawing room. She informed him that she was awaiting CM. “…He began yelling at me, threatening to teach me a lesson and saying things like, “How dare you refuse us.”
Maliwal commented, “He is not your typical PA,” about Kumar. The entire group is afraid of him as he is a very strong and resourceful man. His home is more opulent than any minister’s… He is currently the subject of an assault case.” “There is a message in the party that says you are finished in this party if Kumar gets angry with you,” she continued.
“I have always gone to his house like that, and I had no idea that something like this would happen to me,” the woman remarked. I know him for 20 years now. He visits our place after I go to his. When asked if she felt deceived by Sunita Kejriwal and Atishi’s lack of support, Maliwal voiced her deep dismay at minister Atishi, accusing them of “victim-shaming” her and drew comparisons to Nirbhaya’s purported victimization.

“I don’t think victim shaming gets much worse than this. The unfortunate thing is that a Delhi-based female minister claimed, “Look, her clothes aren’t ripped, and look, her head doesn’t have any wounds.” Maybe that was all that was left to accomplish; I should have finished it too,” she remarked. When did I report that my head was hurt and that my garments were ripped in the police report? Word for word, I recorded exactly what had occurred to me.
I’m prepared to take the polygraph test if I’m mistaken. Then, everything would be evident,” she declared. She said that the party had completely cut her off, and she made a plea for a “free and fair investingation by delhi police.
