Information Bulletin Neet UG 2024 hearing live updates: The Supreme Court on Thursday began hearing on three petitions regarding NEET-UG, 2024, the controversial medical entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS and other courses.
One of these petitions was filed by Alakh Pandey, CEO of edtech firm ‘Physics Wala’, against the alleged random awarding of grace marks to over 1,500 candidates by the National Testing Agency (NTA). In the petition, Alakh Pandey urged the apex court to constitute an expert panel under its monitoring to “investigate the examination process and results of NEET (UG) 2024”.
This year, a total of 67 students scored a perfect 720. Haryana’s Faridabad was in the news over suspicion of irregularities as the names of six candidates from the same center appeared in the perfect 720 list.

According to the information, the Center told the Supreme Court that it has been decided to cancel the score-cards of 1563 NEET-UG 2024 candidate students, who were given grace marks. According to the report, the Center said that these 1563 students will be given the option to re-appear in the exam.
These students will be informed about their actual marks (without grace marks). They will definitely be given an opportunity to take the exam again. The result of the students who do not want to appear for the exam again will be given on the basis of the exam to be held on May 5.

NTA tells Supreme Court that a committee has been constituted to review the results of over 1,563 candidates who have been given scope of ‘grace marks’ to compensate for the loss of time while appearing for NEET-UG. SC has also been told that the committee has sent 1,563 NEET-UG 2024 .
It has been decided to cancel the scorecards of the candidates who were given grace marks and these students will be asked to re-examination. NTA told the Supreme Court that the examinations will be conducted on June 23 and the result will definitely be declared before June 30.

Through reports, the Supreme Court reiterated that it will not stay the counseling of NEET-UG, 2024.

“Students prepare for NEET exam for years and the paper gets leaked There is also speculation that the paper was leaked a day before… It has become an ecosystem where coaching centers and colleges are all leaking papers together,” he said, expressing concern over the integrity of the examination process.

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday asked the national testing agency NTA to produce the original records of the student who alleged that she has not yet received her NEET result.
The bench has fixed June 18 as the next date of hearing in the case.

The exam was conducted by NTA on May 5 across 4,750 centers and around 24 lakh candidates appeared for it. The results were expected to be declared on 14 June, but were declared on 4 June, as the evaluation of answer sheets was already completed.
Allegations such as question paper leak and granting of grace marks to over 1,500 medical aspirants have led to protests and cases filed in seven high courts as well as the Supreme Court.
