Investigations have shown that a Bangladeshi MP who is thought to have been killed in Kolkata was skinned, chopped up in an apartment, and thrown out in multiple plastic packets all around the city. Two days after his arrival in Kolkata on May 14, Anwarul Azim Anar, the MP, went missing.
With the arrest of Jihad Hawladar, a Bangladeshi immigrant living in Mumbai illegally, the West Bengal CID (Criminal Investigation Department) has made a major investigative breakthrough. Jihad Hawladar has admitted to his role in the murder and mutilation of the Bangladesh MP’s body in an apartment in Kolkata’s New Town, according to CID officials.

Unbelievably detailed information about the meticulous planning and execution of the crime has surfaced. According to reports, Hawladar revealed that US citizen Akhtaruzzaman’s, who was born in Bangladesh, was the mastermind. Hawladar and four other Bangladeshi nationals assassinated the MP in the New Town residence by suffocating him, per Akhtaruzzaman’s orders.
Asaduzzaman Khan, the home minister of Bangladesh, announced on Wednesday that Anwarul Azim Anar had been found dead and that three persons had been taken into custody.
Within the New Town apartment, the Bengal CID discovered bloodstains and many plastic bags that they believe were used to dispose of the body parts.
The information is really unsettling. After killing Anar, the group then proceeded to skin the body, remove all the flesh, and mince it to destroy any chance of identification, according to what Hawladar allegedly informed police. After that, the bones were broken up into small bits and the remains were placed into plastic bags. The suspect claimed that these parcels were moved and disposed of all throughout Kolkata.

On May 12, Anwarul, a member of the Awami League, the political party of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, traveled to Kolkata for medical care.
The 56-year-old lawmaker was lodging at his friend Gopal Biswas’ home. Biswas lodged a complaint with the Kolkata Police following his disappearance.
Anwarul Azim Sheikh Hasina was also told of the matter by Anar’s family, and embassies in Delhi and Kolkata were notified by her office.
