Swati Maliwa New Delhi
Following days of conjecture, Arvind Kejriwal was questioned today over the BJP’s allegation that his assistant had attacked Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member Swati Maliwal. During a joint press conference with Akhilesh Yadav, the ally of India, the AAP chief stayed silent. His colleague Sanjay Singh took over the microphone and responded.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh questioned about the sex assault charges against BJP ally Prajwal Revanna and the tribal women who were paraded in Manipur in their undies.
Sanjay Singh cited instances of the ruling party’s alleged silence on crimes against women, including the arrest and beating of Swati Maliwal, the then-Chairperson of the Women’s Commission, for going to support our wrestler daughters when they were fighting for justice at Jantar Mantar.
A family, the Aam Aadmi Party. I want the Prime Minister and the BJP to address every concern I have brought up, as the party has made its position quite clear. “Please don’t use this to play political games,” he continued.
In order to promote for the Lok Sabha elections, Mr. Kejriwal was freed from jail on Friday. The BJP has accused him of protecting his personal aide, Bibhav Kumar, who on Monday reportedly “misbehaved with” Swati Maliwal. The Chief Minister of Delhi is said to have been the location of the incident.
Former Delhi Commission for Women president Swati Maliwal has remained silent over the incident, which has descended into a political back-and-forth in the midst of national elections.
Sanjay Singh had declared on Tuesday that the Chief Minister had noted the occurrence and will take action in the face of intensifying BJP attacks.
However, the BJP started rallies in Delhi, calling for “justice for Swati Maliwal” and a FIR against Mr. Kejriwal’s assistant.
BJP leaders further asserted that the man suspected of beating the MP was spotted at the Lucknow airport with Mr. Kejriwal and other AAP leaders. They claimed that Swati Maliwal was put on incommunicado at the same time.
Chief Minister Kejriwal, who has been under fire from opponents BJP and on-paper allies Congress since the story broke, “will take strict action,” according to Mr. Singh, who referred to the episode as “highly condemnable.”
There was a really upsetting occurrence early yesterday morning. Arvind Kejriwal has scheduled a meeting with Swati Maliwal. As she waited for him in the drawing room, Bibhav Kumar entered and mistreated her. Following this, Ms. Maliwal informed the police of what had occurred by calling them.”
This is an unacceptable occurrence. Arvind Kejriwal has acknowledged the situation and stated that the harshest measures should be implemented. “Swati Maliwal is one of the party’s oldest and most senior leaders, and he has done great work for the people and country,” Mr. Singh told reporters. We support her and will take Mr. Kejriwal’s directive seriously in handling this matter. Such behavior is not supported by the AAP.”
On the incident, Ms. Maliwal has not yet made any comments.
“(Swati) Maliwal visited Arvind Kejriwal at his home yesterday. The Chief Minister’s PA, Bibhav Kumar, mistreated her in the drawing room while she was waiting. This is a very regrettable occurrence. Mr. Singh stated, “Mr. Kejriwal has acknowledged this and will take strong action.
The BJP has promptly denounced Mr. Singh’s statement. “Why were they silent for 36 hours?” asked Virendra Sachdeva, the party’s leader in Delhi. The Chief Minister was nowhere to be found. You are only now becoming aware of the misbehavior of a lady Rajya Sabha MP who was in Mr. Kejriwal’s house?”
It is deplorable. “Something needs to be done,” he said. Additionally, he asserted that Ms. Maliwal had not yet filed a police case because of political pressure.
AAP Attacked Over Swati Maliwal Harassment
Following Mr. Singh’s remarks, the AAP is certain to face additional attacks today. On Monday, the party was hit hard by reports that Ms. Maliwal, the Chief Minister’s housemate and former chair of the Delhi Commission, had been beaten inside.
Arvinder Singh Lovely, a newcomer to the BJP from the Congress, said, “It is terrible and condemnable if Swati Maliwal has been handled this way. It is impossible for those who talk about guarantees to ensure the protection of women in their own homes. This begs concerns about the government.”
The National Commission for Women has also taken up the issue, stating that it will look into the event and has asked Delhi Police to submit a “action-taken” report to them within 72 hours. Also Read:-https://livendtv.com/mumbai-broker-i-pay-too-much-taxes/
BJP, Congress Attack AAP, Kejriwal
This morning, BJP and Congress council members in the Delhi Municipal Corporation’s offices got into a political spat over the entire episode, demanding that Mr. Kejriwal resign and face consequences.
The council members obstructed the start of the proceedings by raising slogans like “Kejriwal istifa do” (Kejriwal, resign) and “Swati Maliwal ko insaaf do” (justice for Swati Maliwal).

It is not surprising that the BJP, which has also called for the Chief Minister’s resignation over his suspected involvement in the liquor policy scandal—for which he was detained and imprisoned in March—also made this demand.
Given that the two parties are part of the INDIA alliance and are running against the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha, it is surprising that the Congress has responded so angrily.
