Prime Minister Narendra Modi today urged members of the ruling NDA to ensure that their behavior on the House floor is exemplary and to adhere to the rules of Parliament, a day after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s all-out attack on the BJP caused a massive commotion in the Lok Sabha.
Top BJP leaders and ministers were present at the NDA parliamentary party meeting this morning, which was addressed by the prime minister. This was his first speech to NDA MPs as prime minister following his election to the position for a third consecutive term.
Following the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju spoke to the media and said that NDA members had congratulated the prime minister on winning a third term and had pledged their unwavering support.

Advice from Modi to NDA MPs following uproar over Rahul’s comments.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MPs have been urged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to respect parliamentary procedures and behave honorably in the House.
Following the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s vehement denunciation of the Bharatiya Janata Party, which created a great deal of agitation in the Lok Sabha, this advise was offered during an NDA parliamentary party meeting.
According to Modi, “all MPs have come to the Parliament for service to the nation,” and he urged NDA members to give this service first priority.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister declined to answer when asked if there had been any conversation during today’s meeting regarding Mr. Gandhi’s comments and the disturbance in the Lok Sabha yesterday. “This meeting was not about that, it was to boost coordination among us.” According to Mr. Rijiju, the Prime Minister would respond to today’s Lok Sabha debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President.
Yesterday, Mr. Gandhi, in his new role as Leader of the Opposition, unleashed a vicious attack on the BJP, charging its leaders with attacking the Constitution and abusing investigative institutions for their own political benefit.

The NDA MPs received Modi’s message via Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and others.
He said that in order to preserve parliamentary democracy and make sure that their behavior is appropriate, the PM had given MPs instructions to adhere to the rules when bringing up matters that are important to both their constituency and the country.
During his criticism of the BJP, Rijiju also addressed Gandhi’s behaviour, saying, “Yesterday, the way Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi behaved… This is our lesson.”
PM Modi gives his first speech of his third term at the NDA meeting.
The NDA meeting, which took place on Tuesday morning prior to the opening of Parliament, was noteworthy since it was Prime Minister Modi’s first speech to the members of the ruling bloc in his third term.

Separately, the leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, accused the BJP’s ideological parent, the Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and chastised Prime Minister Modi for his comments during the polls.
Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, who defended the RSS as a nationalist movement, erased the majority of Kharge’s comments.
