PM Modi’s Wayanad Visit livendtv Updates 2024:- Kerala Governor Arif Muhammad Khan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Kannur Airport on August 10, 2024. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Kannur at around 11 am on Saturday, August 10, 2024, and is scheduled to conduct an aerial survey of the landslide-affected area in Wayanad.

Mr Modi, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Governor Arif Mohammed. Khan left for Wayanad in a Mil Mi-17 helicopter of the Indian Air Force for aerial survey of the landslide area. Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Tourism Suresh Gopi is also with him.
The teams involved in the rescue operation will brief them about the evacuation efforts. He said that the Prime Minister will visit the relief camp and hospital where he will meet and interact with the victims and survivors of the landslide.

Mr Modi’s visit is important for the rehabilitation of people devastated by landslides. The ruling front and the opposition had requested the Central government to declare the July 30 earthquake, which devastated Churalamala, Mundakkai and Attamala areas, as a national disaster.
SPG takes control of the area leading to the venue Special Protection Group (SPG) has taken over the security of the temporary helipad and associated areas at Kalpetta-Meppadi-Chural Mala Road, Wayanad Collectorate, SKMJ Higher Secondary School here .
Police sources said that the police have also deployed more than 2000 personnel including officers of Thunderbolt, the special commando force of Kerala Police. SPG Inspector General Luv Kumar had held a contact meeting with senior officials of various departments here two days ago. He inspected the temporary helipad on Friday and also made a trial landing of the helicopter. ADGP MR Ajit Kumar also held a meeting of senior police officers on Friday to assess the situation.
