SUMMARY:
- For the past two days, Dawood Ibrahim, the underworld don, has been hospitalized in Karachi.
- Numerous accounts imply that the runaway don was probably poisoned.
- Neither the Indian government nor the Pakistani government have provided an official confirmation of this.
Due to a major health issue, Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar, a fugitive from the underworld, is being treated in a Karachi hospital. Although there has been no official confirmation from Pakistan or India, a number of reports indicate that the fugitive don was probably poisoned.
Ibrahim had been in the hospital for about two days as of Monday. His security cover has been tightened, and he is the only patient on his floor. According to sources, the security cover is so tight that the only people with access to the floor are top hospital officials and members of Ibrahim’s immediate family.
Additionally, there are rumours in Pakistani media that Sunday’s internet outages affected nearly every region of the country. Users complained about having trouble accessing Facebook, YouTube, and X, which was once known as Twitter.
Since Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m., the nation’s apps—particularly the online versions—have not worked. The cities most impacted were Karachi, Mir Pur Khas, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, according to a report by Geo News. At home, Mumbai Police are attempting to get additional details about Dawood Ibrahim’s hospitalization from his family members, Sajid Wagle and Alishah Parkar.
Ibrahim is in Karachi and is married twice, according to information provided to the National Investigative Agency (NIA) earlier this year by Alishah Parkar, the don’s sister Haseena Parkar’s son.
In its indictment of the underworld don, the NIA implied that the airport is under the authority of him and his go-betweens because the passports of Ibrahim, his close associate Chhota Shakeel, and their relatives who entered Pakistan were never stamped by Karachi airport officials.
He clarified that Maizabin, the don’s first wife, who communicates with people via WhatsApp, has not yet been divorced. He went on to say that in July of last year, he met Maizabin in Dubai, where she informed him of Dawood’s second marriage.
Alishah Parkar thinks Dawood Ibrahim’s second marriage is probably an attempt to divert attention away from Maizabin, his first wife, from the agencies. Parkar also provided information about the fugitive don’s brothers to the central agency.– Sabir
It is thought that Dawood Ibrahim was the mastermind behind the bombings in Mumbai in 1993. Over 250 people lost their lives as a result of the bombings, and thousands more were injured. The governments of India and the US designated Ibrahim as a “global terrorist” in 2003.
Right now, he is listed as one of India’s “Most Wanted.” According to Indian authorities, Ibrahim resides in the Clifton area of Pakistan. On the other hand, he has not been acknowledged as residing in Pakistan by the authorities.
