Five vehicles were involved in a major incident in Texas that claimed the lives of four Indians, including a woman. The victims were traveling to Bentonville, Arkansas, on Friday when the tragedy occurred. They had met using a carpooling app. Their corpses were scorched, and the SUV they were in caught fire as a result of the collision. DNA testing is being used by the authorities to verify their identities.
Aryan Raghunath Orampati, Dharshini Vasudevan, Farooq Shaik, and Lokesh Palacharla are the victims. Orampati was on his way back from seeing his cousin in Dallas with his friend Shaik. To meet his bride, Lokesh Palacharla was making his way to Bentonville. Dharshini Vasudevan was traveling to Bentonville to see her uncle. She had completed her master’s degree at the University of Texas and was employed in the United States. They were able to be identified by authorities because to the carpooling app they used to connect.
Three days prior, on Twitter, Darshini Vasudevan’s father had tagged External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and asked for assistance in finding his daughter.
“Greetings, Sir With her Indian passport bearing number T6215559, my daughter Dharshini Vasudevan has been studying for two years and working for one year in the United States. She currently resides at 3150 Avenue of the Stars, Apt. 1110, Frisco, Texas 75034.
Their remains were badly burned in the fire, and now DNA testing is being used by the authorities to determine who they are.
She went carpooling with three other individuals yesterday evening from about 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. She was approachable by phone and actively communicating, but after 4 p.m., no more communication could be had with her or the other three passengers,” he stated in the post.
Max Agri Genetics Private Limited is a Hyderabad-based company owned by Orampati’s father, Subhash Chandra Reddy. In Coimbatore, at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Aryan earned his engineering degree. “In May, his parents traveled to the United States for his University of Texas convocation. They asked him to go back to India after the convocation, but he insisted he wanted to continue working in the US for an additional two years. This is how fate has hit,” a relative stated.
Shaik, a friend of Orampati, was also from Hyderabad and resided in Bentonville. Darshini was a Tamil Nadu native who resided in Frisco, Texas. Masthan Vali, the father of Farooq Shaik, stated that he visited the US three years ago. “He traveled to the US to finish his master’s degree. He just completed it.” The family of Mr. Vali, a retired private employee, resides in BHEL Hyderabad. “My daughter also lives in US and is handling the situation.”
Reportedly, the victims’ SUV was rear-ended by a fast truck. Every everyone inside the car perished from burns when the car caught fire. To verify the identities, the police are depending on teeth and bone remnants as well as DNA fingerprinting. “DNA fingerprinting will be done to identify the bodies, and the samples will be matched with the parents,” a local authority said.
