The summons names the Indian government, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, former R&AW chief Samant Goyal, R&AW agent Vikram Yadav and Indian businessman Nikhil Gupta and seeks response within 21 days.
“When these issues were first brought to our attention, we took action (a high-level committee is engaged in this matter),” the Foreign Secretary said. He said this is a ”completely inappropriate matter” Mr. “I draw your attention to the person who filed this,” the Egyptian said He said that Pannun’s “antecedents are well known” and that he belonged to an illegal organization.
Pannun heads the radical Sikhs for Justice and is known for making inflammatory speeches and threats against Indian leaders and institutions. New Delhi declared him a terrorist in 2020.
In November, the UK newspaper Financial Times reported that the US had foiled a plot to kill Pannun, who has dual US and Canadian citizenship. Joe Biden administration officials later confirmed this.

As far as the case filed in a US court against a person allegedly linked to an Indian official is concerned, it is a matter of concern. We have said that this is also contrary to government policy,” said then External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi.
In May this year, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said India was investigating the matter, but stressed that it would not impact the “upward trajectory” of India-US relations.
“The United States has brought some information to our attention in good faith because we also recognize that some of it has implications for our own systems,” he said in an interview with news agency PTI.
“We are investigating it.. But I don’t think it will have any impact on the basic upward path of India-America.”
US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti has told NDTV that this matter will not have any impact on India-US relations. ALSO READ:- https://livendtv.com/livendtv-breaking-news/
