New Delhi:
At the Delhi airport on Tuesday, an IndiGo flight headed for Varanasi got a bomb threat; however, following extensive searches, authorities reported finding nothing unusual.
Minutes before it was supposed to take off from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, the 176-passenger flight, 6E2211, was stopped on the runway.
“A phone call about a bomb threat was received at 5:40 a.m. from the IGI airport. The pilot discovered a piece of paper with the message “BOMB BLAST @30 MINUTES” scrawled on it inside the flight bathroom, according to an official.

The official stated that the aircraft was transported right away to the isolation bay so that any necessary actions could be performed. A rapid reaction team was also dispatched, and they discovered no suspicious things.
According to the official, every passenger departed by the emergency entrance and is safe.
In an official statement, IndiGo added that the plane was moved to a secluded bay in accordance with directives from airport security organizations.
“An examination of the flight is now being conducted. The aircraft will be positioned back in the terminal area once all security procedures have been completed, according to the airline.
The tissue paper with the word “bomb” scrawled on it that was discovered earlier this month in the Delhi airport restroom of an Air India flight was later discovered to be a fake.
The police had reported that they had got information about a piece of tissue paper with the word “bomb” scribbled on it that was discovered in the restroom of an Air India flight that was supposed to take off for Vadodara on May 15.

“Following standard security protocols, a thorough inspection was conducted, and no suspicious items were found,” a government source stated.
Recent bomb threat emails that claimed there were explosives on the premises of several hospitals and schools in Delhi were sent to these addresses. Investigators discovered that the threats were, however, false alarms.
There are safety procedures in place.
IndiGo aircraft 6E 65 was due to take off from Chennai International Airport (MAA) at 07:35 on August 27. According to ch-aviation.com, IndiGo received a brand-new Airbus A320-200neo on July 28, 2022, which was intended to be used for the voyage. The manufacturer’s serial number for the A320neo is 10986, and its registration is VT-IIZ. With 186 seats at a pitch of 30 inches (76.2 cm), it features a 3-3 cabin arrangement. The aircraft is currently valued at $53 million and is powered by two CFM Leap-1A26 engines.
According to a number of accounts, the drama began when an anonymous phone call was received by the local police control room. Police, security services, airports, and airlines promptly activate established and routine systems upon receiving bomb threats such as these. The initial course of action should be to isolate the aircraft and ascertain whether or not it is carrying a bomb or other explosive device, rather than questioning the validity of the danger. In this case, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and the Airport police were contacted immediately and their processes were initiated.
The Airbus A320neo was transported by airport officials to a special, isolated airport berth, where it was extensively examined by the BDDS and police. Thankfully, there were no explosives discovered on the IndiGo aircraft, and at 14:00, more than six hours after it had taken off, it took off for Dubai International Airport (DXB). Finally, at 16:06, Flight 6E 65 touched down in Dubai, having traveled 2,935 kilometers (1,824 miles) in 3:36 hours. It made a quick turnaround and took off as flight 6E 146 from DXB to Chandigarh International Airport (IXC) at 17:47. According to the reports, accommodations were made for both passengers and staff personnel throughout the delay.
Bomb threats should never be taken lightly.
The bogus call was promptly linked by police to a man in Chennai, who was taken into custody. He is described in the same sources as a “inebriated or drunk” man who is attempting to stop two family members from departing India. The man, 43, is identified as Ranjith, the proprietor of a travel agency, by the Hindustan Times. He did the deed “because he was upset with his family who was flying in the aircraft,” according to the police. He was apprehended and placed under police custody right away.
A bomb threat issue arose on August 7 on IndiGo aircraft 6E 556 from Jaipur to Bengaluru. A handwritten note stating there was a bomb on board was discovered in a restroom just before the plane touched down. Upon landing, the plane was checked by the dog squad, BDDS, and other security officers, but no explosives was found.
